Groupon debuts iPad-based mobile checkout system

Daily deal site Groupon has unveiled an iPad-based checkout and management system for restaurants, with technology called Breadcrumb acquired from a New York start-up earlier this year. The announcement further fueled speculation that Groupon aims to compete with OpenTable, which began when the daily deal site acquired reservation site Savored.
