Miss. city agrees to work on $400M worth of sewer upgrades

Jackson, Miss., has agreed to spend about $400 million on sewer system upgrades and pay a fine to the Environmental Protection Agency for releasing much of the city's minimally treated sewage into the Pearl River. However, the city has spent $70 million on sewer system improvements and $155 million on the water system since 1997, according to Mayor Harvey Johnson Jr.
