AHRQ names 20 costliest inpatient conditions in the U.S.

Hospital stays in 2011 cost a total of $387 billion, according to a report from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. The report also lists the 20 most expensive inpatient conditions, with septicemia at the top, costing $20.3 billion, followed by osteoarthritis at $14.8 billion and device, implant or graft complications at $12.9 billion.
