Carrefour calls out French laws that limit operating hours

Carrefour has joined a growing list of retailers who are upset about laws in France that restrict the hours their stores are allowed to stay open, after a court ruled the retailer must close one of its stores at 1 p.m. on Sunday and 9 p.m. during the week. The retailer called the laws that allow some kinds of stores to open on Sundays but not others and don't allow for late-night hours incoherent.
