Children have a strong influence on vacation plans, survey finds

A survey by Holiday Inn Resort found that 90% of parents say their vacation plans are influenced by their children. Among popular vacation destinations, theme parks ranked highest at 29%, followed by beaches and large cities at 23%. Parents look for hotels that offer pools, kids suites, free meals for children perks, and on-site activities. "[P]arents want kids to have new experiences whether it is at a beach, ski resort or theme park. In many ways they want a resort to be like a cruise ship experience on land," said Heather Balsley, senior vice president for the Americas at the Holiday Inn Brand Family.
