FTC is urged to examine practice of tracking across devices

The Federal Trade Commission is being urged to look into companies that trace consumers' behavior across digital devices. The practice raises privacy issues, said Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass. "Such tracking envelops users in a digital environment where marketers know their preferences and personal information no matter which device they use while consumers are kept largely in the dark," Markey said in his letter to the FTC.
