Millennials prompt marketing change in wine industry

Millennials are drinking more wine than previous generations, representing 30% of consumers who drink wine at least once per week as they graduate to the legal drinking age, according to Chris Fehrnstrom, chief marketing officer for Constellation Brands. The wine industry is working to improve and maintain its attraction to these younger, less-pretentious consumers, says Melissa Saunders of Communal Brands, with price-appropriate offerings, sweeter tasting blends, social media marketing and eco-packaging.
