Multivitamins plus minerals linked to fewer breast cancer deaths

Postmenopausal women with breast cancer who began using multivitamins with minerals consistently before diagnosis had a 30% lower risk of dying from the condition than nonusers, according to an analysis in the Breast Cancer Research and Treatment journal. The findings, based on data from the Women's Health Initiative, "suggest possible benefit for multivitamin use in women diagnosed with invasive breast cancer," researchers wrote.
