NBCT: The benefits of teaching digital-reading comprehension

National Board Certified Teacher Holly Clark uses the image of a woman struggling to read an unwieldy newspaper in a cramped airplane to make the case for teaching students to read on digital devices. Among the benefits, she writes in this blog post, are that digital reading -- on iPads or other devices -- allows students to organize their notes, access definitions, learn pronunciations and improve comprehension.
