John Wildey was a passenger in his friend's Cessna 172, when his pilot friend collapsed and he had to take the controls to land the plane. Instructors in the air traffic control tower at Humberside Airport in the U.K. helped talk Wildey through the landing. "I’ve never flown a plane before and I know you bring back the controls but I didn’t bring them back hard enough. ... I suppose it was a controlled crash really," Wildey said.
