Qualcomm working on new chips that will enable machines to learn

Qualcomm is looking for partners to develop new microchips that can copy the processes of the human brain. The smartphone chipmaker says the new technology would enable machines to use less power to carry out complex tasks. "The promise of this is a kind of machine that can learn and be programmed without software -- be programmed the way you teach your kid," said Qualcomm CTO Matt Grob.
