Teachers' union seeks delay on decisions based on high-stakes exams in NYC

The United Federation of Teachers is calling for a moratorium on tying tests aligned with the Common Core State Standards with major decisions about the future of teachers and students. At issue, union officials say, is that many teachers are still awaiting curriculum materials needed to align their lessons to the content on common core tests.
