Third-quarter investment in mobile games rises as backers smell revenue

Third-quarter investment in mobile game applications rose 35% year over year to $876 million, according to Digi-Capital. After a period of flagging interest following Zynga's IPO, investors are back as the gap between the revenue produced by game apps and nongame apps widens. Digi-Capital estimates game revenue will constitute 72% of the total this year while nongame revenue appears to be leveling.
