FMI responds to labeling guidelines

The country-of-origin guidelines released yesterday by the USDA will create an endless paper trail and more confusion for consumers, FMI President Tim Hammonds says. "In addition to being extraordinarily difficult to implement, adhering to the guidelines will be extremely expensive for food producers, which will ultimately increase the cost of food for consumers," Hammonds said.
