Jacksonville hoteliers grapple with federal rate cut

Hotel operators in Jacksonville, Fla., have formed a task force to look at options for responding to a $5 reduction that the U.S. General Services Administration has allocated for federal employees in expensing local hotel rooms. The reduction lowers the rate in the area from $78 to $73, and local hotel operators say that with most costs increasing, the reduction makes a tight situation even tighter.
