Study: Illinois students missing out on the arts

One third of Illinois' elementary students and 70% of high school students take no art, music, theater or dance classes during the schoolday, a new study by an arts advocacy group has found. Most of the nearly 1,000 superintendents and principals surveyed blame the arts education shortfall on on a lack of funding and overloaded schedules.
