India to extend disability provisions to additional adults, students

India's social-welfare ministry is taking steps to include people with autism and learning disabilities under the umbrella of protection it offers through disability laws. The government is also proposing that children with disabilities be included more often in mainstream classes rather than taught in separate special education. India says it is working to align its national guidelines with those set forth by the 2006 U.N. Convention on Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
