Districts face deadlines to submit reforms under Race to the Top

Winners in the second round of the Race to the Top grant competition have until Nov. 22 to submit documents from their districts and schools on how they'll make changes to teacher evaluations and student-data systems. Eleven states and the District of Columbia qualified for about $4 billion in federal grants through the program. Money can not be given to individual districts until they submit their plans and get approval.
