Gap takes online advice, restores old logo

Gap Inc., in responses to an "outpouring of comments" online and customer feedback over the past week criticizing its new logo, has restored its familiar blue brand icon. The retail chain, in trying to revise its logo, should have first tried "to engage with the online community," Marka Hansen, president of Gap Brand North America, said in a statement. "There may be a time to evolve our logo, but if and when that time comes, we'll handle it in a different way," Hansen said.
