N.Y. officials differ on sugary-drinks proposal

Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, expressed ambivalence about a proposed plan in New York City to bar the use of food stamps to purchase sugar-sweetened drinks. "I think giving parents and families the tools they need to make the right choices is a better approach," she said.
