School provides community outings for students with disabilities

Second-graders with moderate to severe disabilities at an Indiana elementary school take weekly field trips to help them learn about their community. The hourlong outings include visits to the zoo, Wal-Mart and a pumpkin patch. "This is part of getting them familiar with their surroundings," a special-education assistant said.
