Women and men aren't so different when it comes to entrepreneurship

While anecdotal evidence and media coverage encourage the stereotype of the young, white male technology entrepreneur, data show that in reality the average business leader is older and the backgrounds and motivations of most women tech entrepreneurs are the same as those of men. Vivek Wadhwa says his research shows there was no difference in life circumstances between male and female entrepreneurs and their average ages when starting their first company was the same. But Wadhwa does note the lack of women entering tech fields and recommends remedies.
