$550M plan to expand San Diego convention center advances

A $550 million plan to increase the size of the San Diego Convention Center by 422,000 square feet is a step closer in the approval process now that the City Council has approved a plan to raise money to pay for it. The expansion would include additional exhibit space, a rooftop park and ground-level retail space.
