6 social media guidelines for nurses from the ANA

The ANA has released guidelines for how nurses can use social media sites wisely. The six principles emphasize the importance of patient-nurse boundaries and of nurse participation in the development of institutional policies on social media. Protecting patients' privacy in a realm where everything is public is one of the main objectives, said ANA senior policy analyst Katie Brewer. "When in doubt, leave it out," she said.
