Aurobindo joins UNITAID's patent pool for HIV drugs

Indian generic-drug maker Aurobindo Pharma joined UNITAID's Medicines Patent Pool to make and distribute Gilead Sciences' HIV drugs in developing and middle-income countries. Aurobindo took advantage of a provision that gives it licensing rights to tenofovir without paying royalties.
