Economist puts odds of double-dip recession at 40%

There is a 40% chance that the U.S. will enter another recession, says Mark Zandi, an economist with Moody's Analytics. Zandi says that figure would stand even if Congress passes a jobs bill, though he said that appears unlikely. Growth in gross national product would fall by 1.7 percentage points in 2012 without extended unemployment insurance benefits and a payroll-tax break, he said.
