Severely ill police dog makes "phenomenal" recovery

Ivan, a Madison, Wis., police dog suffering from both brain inflammation and pneumonia was successfully treated at the University of Wisconsin Veterinary Care Small Animal Hospital, and university veterinarians credit his human partner with the success. "If [Officer Henry Wilson] would have waited a day or two before he brought him in, [Ivan] could have died at home," said veterinarian JD Foster. Ivan is expected to be back fighting crime in six to eight weeks.
