Survey: 90% support post-surgery e-monitoring for opioid overdose

A survey of health care providers found 90% agree that continuous electronic monitoring of oxygenation and ventilation should be available for all patients after surgery to reduce the risk of opioid overdose. Dr. Marc Popovich, medical director of the surgical ICU at the Cleveland Clinic, said he was shocked at the 10% of respondents to the Physician-Patient Alliance for Health & Safety poll who disagreed.
