Poll: Many patients expect docs to text, e-mail them

A majority of adults surveyed by Varolii, a communications company in Seattle, want their physicians to communicate with them through emails, texts and smartphone alerts even when they are not sick. The poll also indicated that half of the respondents believe reminders sent by their doctors using technological platforms could have helped them avoid a past medical problem.
