Softbank may be interested in Sprint

Sprint Nextel is holding advanced talks with Softbank for the Japanese wireless carrier to acquire the telecom in a deal that could be worth nearly $13 billion, according to a published report that says it remains unclear if Softbank will buy a majority stake or the entire company. It was also uncertain if the talks would reach fruition. Softbank would offer Sprint enough capital to complete its upgrade to Long-Term Evolution technology, industry observers suggested.
