Gramercy Tavern and Rouge Tomate have the best overall wine lists in New York City, according to this article by Eric Asimov. Others are Charlie Bird, Pearl & Ash, Nice Matin and Tribeca Grill. Others in the top 12 restaurants for wine in specific categories are Daniel for high-end French wines, Babbo for Italian, Franny's for "Geeky Italian," Reynard for "Geeky French," Casa Mono for Spanish wines and Eleven Madison Park for Germanic wines. "The best are products of imagination, dedication, energy, resources and a clear point of view. They offer worthy wines in all price ranges," writes Asimov.
