Alaska to study school policies on physical education, recess

Alaska's Health Department will study physical-education and recess policies at schools in the state and compare them with national standards to determine whether they are adequate. The survey will be part of a larger anti-obesity effort, and Karol Fink, manager of the state's Obesity Prevention and Control Program, said there are no physical-education or recess requirements for schools.
