The owners of Bal Harbour Shops in Florida have submitted two sets of redevelopment plans with the end goal of adding 250,000 square feet. The plans include the possibility of enlarging Neiman Marcus and adding a third anchor. The additional space would house 100,000 square feet of department stores, 20 specialty boutiques, a high-end theater and two parking garages. The redevelopment of the 450,000-square-foot retail center would likely cost $200 million.
