Md. commission approves MGM, Penn as suitable for casino license

The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission unanimously approved MGM Resorts International and Penn National Gaming as suitable applicants for a casino license. The two companies are vying with Maryland Casino LLC, a subsidiary of Greenwood Racing, for a license to build a casino in Prince George's County, Md., next door to Washington, D.C.
