N.C. assistant city manager announces retirement

Julie Burch, the assistant city manager for Charlotte, N.C., announced that she plans to retire Dec. 13. Burch has worked for the city in various roles for 26 years, including interim city manager. Mayor Patsy Kinsey said Burch displayed "tireless professionalism throughout the years." Last week, another assistant city manager announced his departure from Charlotte to take a city manager position in Raleigh. This leaves Charlotte with a city manager, deputy city manager and one other assistant city manager.
