Heart issues, pneumonia leading causes for seniors' hospitalization

Heart problems -- including congestive heart failure, hardening of the arteries, heart beat irregularities and heart attack -- and pneumonia are the two leading causes for the hospitalization of seniors in the U.S., according to new federal data. The research shows there were nearly 2.4 million hospital admissions for cardiac-related problems in 2004 and 713,000 seniors were admitted for pneumonia.
