Experts: Carbon capture, storage process is unproven on large scale

The individual components of carbon capture and storage have been established, but the process has not been proven as practical, experts say. "At large scale it's not been done, and we need to learn how to do it in a much more cost-effective manner," said Eddy Isaacs, executive director of the Alberta Energy Research Institute. The process reduces carbon emissions by scrubbing carbon and burying it underground instead of releasing it into the atmosphere.
