ExxonMobil, Louisiana work on settling environmental issues

ExxonMobil is negotiating with the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality to settle a series of alleged safety violations at the company's chemical plant in Baton Rouge. In addition to paying for state investigation costs, ExxonMobil might fund a $25,000 environmental project aimed at identifying the sources of air-polluting nitrogen oxides as part of the settlement.
