Stronger Australian dollar hurts country's tourism operators

Tour operators in Australia are increasingly concerned as the country's dollar strengthens against other currencies. Matt Hingerty, managing director of the Australian Tourism Export Council, said discounts are being implemented to appeal to foreign visitors. "This is just going to add more pressure at the worst possible time, and a number of my members are hanging on by the skin of their teeth and some of them are starting to fall over. It's going to hurt," he said.
