Supplements change fecal microflora, not cancer markers

People who take prebiotic, probiotic and synbiotic supplements will have altered fecal microflora but the supplements don't affect biomarkers linked to colorectal cancer, researchers reported. They said gut microorganisms are critical to health and more study is needed on their relationship to supplements and to digestive diseases, including bowel cancer and inflammatory bowel disease.
