IASB selects Dutch official as next chairman

The International Accounting Standards Board named Hans Hoogervorst, a former Dutch finance minister, to succeed David Tweedie as chairman in June. Hoogervorst, who is chairman of the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets, will have to tap his political skills as the IASB harmonizes its rules with U.S. accounting standards, experts say.
