Ohio community program helps low-income customers buy propane

A community group in Cheshire, Ohio, is helping residents buy propane as the weather starts to get colder. The Gallia Meigs Community Action Agency's Emergency Home Energy Assistance Program can be used by low-income families to buy up to 200 gallons of propane. "Most of the HEAP recipients are our neighbors who are living on [a] fixed income or working for low wages," says Sandra Edwards, the group's emergency-services manager. "HEAP gives them the extra help they need to make it through the cold Ohio winter."
