Project to grow algae near airports gets airlines' support

British Airways and Airbus are among the aviation companies backing an initiative by researchers at Cranfield University in the U.K. to use areas near airports to grow algae for renewable jet-fuel production. Growing commercial batches of algae for jet fuel will be achievable in four years, said a professor from the university.
