Americans flunk retirement-readiness test

Most pre-retirees are not up to speed on issues such as life expectancy, inflation, long-term-care insurance and Social Security. In a 15-question quiz about retirement, most of the 56- to 65-year-olds surveyed could answer only five questions correctly, according to MetLife. Only 17% knew that they could boost their Social Security benefits by 24% if they hold off on receiving them for three years.
