Army will invite helicopter companies to demonstrate wares

The Army has decided against developing a new armed scout helicopter to replace the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior and instead will ask companies to demonstrate the capabilities of their existing helicopters. "We can't afford a new start for the scout now," said Maj. Gen. Tim Crosby, head of the Army's aviation programs.
