Group issues guidelines on continuous glucose monitoring

The Endocrine Society has released guidelines on continuous glucose monitoring in diabetes patients, which the association describes as a beneficial tool to maintain ideal levels of blood glucose. The guidelines, published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, recommend that real time-CGM alone should not be used for adults in intensive care, and that young patients with type 1 diabetes whose glycosylated hemoglobin levels were higher or lower than 7% should use RT-CGM with approved devices.
