Intel abandons DTV chip business to focus on mobile devices

Intel reports that its Digital Home Group is shifting its engineering resources, moving away from the digital-television business and refocusing on smartphones, tablet computers and Ultrabook-based laptops. Boxee, Comcast and Logitech use Intel chips in their set-top boxes, as does Sony in its TV sets; Intel will continue to support such customers.
