Virgin Atlantic is considering joining forces with BMI

Virgin Atlantic sees potential in a partnership with BMI, the short-haul carrier that Lufthansa Airlines has up for sale. BMI, which has a strong presence at Heathrow Airport in London, would complement the long-haul flights that Virgin operates there, Virgin Atlantic CEO Steve Ridgway says. "We would like to see if there is a way of putting these two businesses together," he said.
