WHO accepts Des Moines into group of age-friendly cities

The World Health Organization has accepted Des Moines, Iowa, as a member of its Global Network of Age-Friendly Cities, the third U.S. city and first Midwest site on the list. A local advisory group is assessing the city's resources in eight key areas identified by WHO, including transportation, social participation, and community support and health services.
