$110M transit center in Md. scheduled to open by late summer

The estimated $110 million Silver Spring Transit Center just across the Washington, D.C., city line in Silver Spring, Md., is 98% complete and is expected to open by late summer of 2013, said David Dise, director of the state Department of General Services. "We intend to use this winter as an opportunity to design a remediation and as soon as favorable weather breaks in April, to be able to be ready to execute the remediation," Dise said. "Currently all work is expected to be completed, including the remediation work, in the summer of 2013."
